Best places to visit in Mussorie

Mussoorie is one of the simplest places to go to in Uttarakhand. It is a hill station within the Dehradun District, Uttarakhand. It’s also referred to as the “The Queen of the Hills” located within the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. Mussoorie is situated at an altitude of 2005 meters. Mussoorie is nearly the primary choice of Honeymoon couples in India. There are many beautiful places to visit in Mussoorie and these are:

1. Kempty Falls- This place is an ideal place for all picnic lovers. Water comes from a height of 40 ft. leave tourists spellbound. British officers enjoy the tea parties here. So this place is famous since early times.
2. Gun Hill- It is the second-highest spot after Lal Tibba. Gun Hill is the most famous place in Mussoorie located 2024 meters above sea level. Here, Britishers did the reckless firing during their time. So this place is known as Gun Hill.
3. Happy Valley- Happy Valley is situated at the end of Cloud end road and is very close to Mall road. Tibetans firstly arrived here when they fled from Lhasa in 1959 which is led by their spiritual leader Dalai Lama before they moved to Dharamshala.
4. Lal Tibba- It is located on top of the hill so from here tourists can enjoy the aerial view of the city and hill. Lal Tibba is the highest point in Mussoorie located at an altitude of 2275 meters. This place is an ideal place for all nature and photography lovers. The government installed the Japanese telescope at the edge of the cliff for the tourists to watch the view of the city surroundings like Kedarnath and Badrinath views.
5. Cloud’s End- Surrounded by the thick oak and deodar forests, Cloud End gives us dazzling views of nature’s beauty. You can also visit the heritage building which was made by the Britishers in 1838 and is one of the oldest buildings in Mussoorie. It is now converted into a heritage hotel and is known as Clouds End Forest Resort.

Best time to visit Mussorie- April to June for enjoying the pleasant weather and december, January for enjoying snowfall.

How to reach Mussorie- If you want to go Mussorie by flight then you can take a flight to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun. After that you can easily get a cab to reach Mussorie. If you want to go by train then dehradun railway station is the best option. You can also get cabs and buses from the major cities of India.
